TG just linked this to me. So apt right now.
Exactly.
I decide whether or not to do your project for a commission or not. Please do not come towards me with the idea to work with me for free unless you’ve got something great to offer as collateral.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe that free work can sometimes yield you benefits that you may not have otherwise received by turning down the project. But, in my mind, free work is reserved for that and only that. Just because we’re close friends does not mean I’ll do work for free. To me, that’s you saying our relationship isn’t even worth supporting each other in our career paths.
A word of advice for anyone seeking out creative work: Never, ever approach a creative individual with the idea that they will work for free. It’s insulting.
AFICIONADO - CONFIDENCE IS INTIMIDATING - FULL SET
This was easily the most fun I’ve ever had recording a live set. The atmosphere was great, despite KU losing in the championship game, and you could tell that Aficionado was having a great time. Really great people in that band. Check out their newest album and buy it.
I’ve got the full set cut into songs (with a ridiculous drum solo on the last one). Check em’ out!
The Aficionado videos will be up in the next 30 minutes or so. I’ll be spreading them out through tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled. They’re really great, I’m super happy with how they turned out. Also, TWO NEW SONGS that you probably haven’t heard unless you caught them live on this tour, too.

Drake - HYFR - Music Video
I was really surprised at how great this was. I mean, when his video for Headlines came out, I was a big fan on the wide angles and the quick cuts/split screen stuff they did. But this video was really fun to watch. The atmosphere was really cool, there was a lot of honesty in it. If you ever see me making rap videos, you better believe their gunna be like this.
There is a mountain of editing to get done in the coming weeks.
Things I have for you in upcoming days:
Keep your eyes peeled.
LIVE - Every Time I Die - Typical Miracle
I was so stoked to see these guys this weekend. The entire set was a huge fucking party. I’ll be posting more of the set in a bit.
Going through this Every Time I Die footage, reliving how insane this show was. Videos of (mostly) the entire show up soon!
The boys in The Atlantic killed it in Lawrence last night.
Here’s a live video of them playing their brand new, unreleased track, “Aftermath”.
We’re got something else brewing for you involving this track, too. Keep your eyes and ears open…

BREATHE CAROLINA - WOOLY
So here it is, Breathe Carolina fans. The music video I’ve been talking about. Lots of color grading and effects work on this one, and I’m proud of how it came out.
The day after I shot this, I went out and bought my 28-75mm F2.8, and in retrospect I really wish I could have gotten it BEFORE the shoot. Nonetheless, I’m happy with the end result and I’m excited that I’m still “on track” for my monthly video goal.
Enjoy, and if you LIKE the video, please click the “Follow” button on my blog and keep yourself update on more video work I’ll be doing for bands in the future!
